Alabama Beaches Are Not Clean--Oil,Tar Balls and Disclored Water Remains on the Gulf Coast

Despite the claims of former Alabama Governor Bob Riley, ADEM and every other talking head trying to convince the world that "Alabama's beaches are in fantastic shape" after the BP Oil Spill, the following video by John Wathen of Hurricane Creekkeeper shot in Fort Morgan, Alabama (Baldwin County) on February 9, 2011 seems to suggest otherwise.

John says that the areas around the hotels and condos seem to be the areas that cleanup is the most aggressive. Wonder why? Nothing like a grand illusion to portray the same.

Notice any birds around as you watch the video?

  1. It's all a big lie and we know it.
It's going to take some time before the Gulf is clean again if ever. They don't care who gets sick or exposed to anything, just as long as they bring that money on down.
I've enjoyed Gulf seafood for many years, but no more, I don't trust what I am being told because I consider the source of who's telling me and I know they lie!
They say they're testing but this is what I see in not so prominent news reports that are far and few between in our papers:
"Local nonprofits and university researchers have come up with more unsettling findings than federal agencies, which have cleared Gulf seafood for human consumption almost from the day the oil stopped flowing."
Raw oysters are exempt from testing and I have to wonder if that's what is really behind the hundreds of thousands Alabama is wanting to spend on the oyster industry.
This is bad and I don't see it getting better anytime soon, especially with the liars in place now.

  3. Spina missed it too:

"The beaches are cleaner and prettier than ever," said Birmingham attorney Tommy Spina, who has two houses he rents in Fort Morgan, which is surrounded by the Gulf and Mobile Bay. "They are absolutely pristine."

He's a lawyer of course and that is synonymous with liar.

  4. I cannot believe the ends that our politicians will go to to COVER UP what the risks and dangers are to so many people in their zeal to make money!
It's reprehensible and may turn out actionable one of these days.
